Connection Support for Premium E-mail Service

Our premium e-mail accounts are set up for those that want to utilize an e-mail address based on a unique domain. Instead of having yourname@netidea.com, this service allows you to have yourname@yourname.com (a domain of your choice, based on availability) at a low monthly rate.

Setting up your premium e-mail account is not much different than setting up an @netidea.com account. First step would be to secure a domain name to use. For example; www.netidea.com is our domain. If you have a domain name in mind, we need to check availability, and if available, purchase and register the name. Once the domain name has been registered, we can create the different e-mail accounts.

For each account created, you will be given a unique username and password to be able to access your e-mail. The username and password will work in either our Net Idea Web Mail system or through your favorite e-mail client program. Any one of our helpful staff can assist you in setting up your e-mail program, however if you would like to do it yourself, please ensure your server settings match those listed on the above. Most e-mail programs though will automatically enter in the username based on what you had specified as an e-mail address during the set up. Please ensure that the user name is changed to that which was provided to you by us. For example, if you are configuring your e-mail client to handle info@mydomain.com, make sure you change the Account/User Name portion to the user name we gave you instead of info which would be the name automatically entered.

Net Idea Web Mail Support

This gives you a general idea on how to use the Net Idea Web Mail system including logging in, common setting adjustments, and managing your e-mail. Contact our friendly and helpful technical support department for help on any issue not covered here.

Logging in: Enter in your username and password as provided to you when the account was set up. Your username is not your e-mail address, only the portion that appears before @netidea.com.

Settings: One of the most common errors that you can experience when using Web Mail, is "Disk Quota Exceeded" when you try to delete a large or a lot of e-mails simultaneously. To avoid this, do the following:

  • Click on "Options" at the top of the screen.
  • When the options window appears, click on "Folder Preferences", and you will be taken to the Folder Options page.
  • Change the Trash setting to "Do not use Trash" and then click "Submit" at the bottom. This will avoid the disk quota error.

Management: Managing your account allows you to control your Spam Filter settings, and let you set an automatic reply or forward for your e-mails if you are going to be away, and also change your password if needed. To access these features, click on "Manage your Account" (located at the top of every page on this website with a folder icon), and enter in your username and password for your e-mail account. The settings are self explanatory, however one good feature is our "Whitelist". Should anyone sending you an e-mail get detected and tagged as spam, you can add their e-mail address in the whitelist located in the Spam Filter Settings to prevent those e-mails from being detected as spam. You can also adjust your Spam Protection level on this page as well. Read our Spam Control section for additional details on how our spam control system works.

Themes: If you do not like the default colour scheme of Web Mail, there are several other colour themes to choose from. Log in to check your e-mail, and do the following:

  • Click "Options" at the top
  • Under Options, click "Display Preferences" (top box, right side)
  • Choose a theme from the dropdown menu. Choose submit at the bottom. You should now see the new theme.
