What is hosting?

Hosting is when a provider, like Net Idea, sells web space on servers connected to the internet. By uploading your website to our servers, it is then accessible via the internet and a domain name. Hosting does not include a domain name, but is a place for your domain name to reside. Once you have hosting you can tell the registrar of your domain where to point the DNS servers to - meaning that when someone visits your website domain, such as www.yourdomain.com, it will correctly take your visitor to the files you have placed on the web server.

Does this hosting include email?

Yes, each package has an allotment of email accounts you can use, ranging from 5 to 20 email accounts. Additional accounts can be added as well. You can either get a yourname@netidea.com email address or else get an email address with your domain name itself - for instance yourname@yourdomainname.com.
